This is a sensory box we thought would be fun to accompany a reading of “Dragons Love Tacos“. As the title suggests, the dragons in this story are pretty big fans of tacos, and especially love a good taco party. Since taco eating can be quite messy, we came up with this sensory box to help the dragons clean up after their fiesta.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A large tote
- Soap (in a soap pump)
- A sponge (cut into squares)
- Dragons (we cut dragons out of foam paper, but we also thought these or these would be a fun addition to the box!)
- A strainer that could act as a shower
Place all the items in the tote and then take the opportunity to play with your little learners and talk about the book and the process of play. Talk about how things feel, make connections to the story, discuss whether or not each dragon is clean, etc.
