Our Guess How Much I Love You sensory activity is Valentine’s themed flower arranging! Have you played with water beads? They were a big hit with our students! All you need is a large bin, some vases or cups (preferably plastic), water beads, and flowers!
- Large Tote
- Water Beads
- Vases or Cups
- Fake Flowers (I found ours at IKEA)
- Ahead of time: Pour the water beads into a vase of water and allow them to sit for a few hours to grow.
- Pour the water beads in the tote, then add the vases and flowers as well as spoons or measuring cups for scooping and pouring.
- A Note and a Caution: I can pretty much guarantee these will not stay in the tote. I am a fully functioning adult and I was still a mess! Luckily, the beads will dry very quickly when they are out of the water. They shrink down to their tiny original size and are easily vacuumed or swept up. Just be aware of little people who might want to eat these. If you have a little one, this might be a good activity to do outside with your bigger kids so no stray beads find their way into curious mouths.
