Ladybug Spot Relay

A fun twist on a classic game, perfect for reading the book The Grouchy Ladybug!

The Grouchy Ladybug takes quite the journey in his efforts to find someone he can pick a fight with. Our Grouchy Ladybug themed game is a relay race. Each team races to put the allotted number of spots on the giant ladybug. Hopefully, it won’t take you quite as long as it took for the Grouchy Ladybug to fly past the whale. Enjoy!

Materials:

  • Red Butcher/Wrapping paper
  • Black Paper
  • Brown paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape/Glue

To Play:

  1. First, you’re going to make your giant ladybug and it’s spots. Here’s ours!

2. Hang the ladybug on a wall or door. Place the dots in two piles at the “starting line”. Divide the students into two groups (If it’s just two people, each of you get to zig-zag through your own pile). When you say “go!” the participants take turns running to the ladybug to stick on the spot. First team to fasten all their spots to the ladybug wins!
