My 10th-Month-Old’s Favorite Board Books

Hello Patootie readers! We are so delighted to be back to work. We have so many fun books, songs, and activities getting ready for YOU. As I write, my 10-month-old baby boy is chewing on my foot, but I assure you, he is actually quite bright.

When given a choice between “Chicka Chicka Book Boom” and “Farm Animals”, Cyrus knows that if he throws the former, he will most likely be read the latter. It’s a good life here in the Poole household.

Don’t worry, we are not always a book-throwing circus. He is actually getting really good at pointing to his favorite books. So I figured I should share his favorites with you! Some are classic, some are strange, but all are loved by this busy 10-month-old. Listed in order of preference:

1. Touch and Feel: Farm

Some of the Touch and Feel books are a little disappointing, but not this gem!

2. Animal Alphabet

This book is like MAGIC. This quickly became a favorite.

3. I Like Myself!

I was surprised when this one made its way into Cy’s heart. There is more text on each page than the typical board book. But we LOVE it.

4. Look at Me!

There is a mirror on the last page of this adorable book. Cyrus LOVES the mirror and relentlessly rips the book out of my hands to check for the baby hiding behind the book. (Face-palm).

6. The Big Hungry Bear

Don’t forget to “taste” the strawberry. Nom Nom Nom.

Psssst…. Check out our post all about this book!

7. The Very Hungry Caterpillar

“In the light of a moon….”, is there a more classic board book?

8. Doggies

10 different ways to bark like a dog? Yes, please!

9. The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Finger puppets for the win!

10. First 100 Words

I don’t know how this happened, but for some reason, “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” is a swear word over here. No matter how interesting I try to make that book, Cyrus is not a fan. “Mole and Baby Bird” also lost his favor. Rude. good thing we have some other options! HAve Fun reading to your squishy faced babies!
