Spooky Spotlight Search: A Sensory Activity with “Trick or Pete”

Grab some spooky Halloween items and a few flashlights for some sensory fun! Use a variety of objects to encourage more discussion as you explore!

You will need:

  • Spooky Items: I got these skeletons from the holiday dollar section of Wal-mart. I also grabbed some eyeballs and spiders.
  • Tape and String
  • A room you can darken

To set it up:

  1. Fasten the items to the walls and ceiling in the room you will be using. My items were not tape-friendly so I had to tie them with string and tape the string to the wall.

To play:

  1. Pass out the flashlights
  2. Let the kids use the flashlights to find the different spooky items. Talk with them about what they find. What is it? What color is it? Is it spooky?
  3. This is a fun activity to do laying down, but it’s also fun to walk around the room. Do whatever is best in your environment and best for your kiddos.
Thanks for reading! Have some fun and a Happy Halloween!
